Singapore Airline Airbus A380 Flight SQ308 has landed in London’s Heathrow airport completing its first European flight. The Singapore Airline arrived in London 15 minutes before its scheduled arrival time.

Each of the 470 Singapore Airlines passengers will be given a personalized certificate to honor the historic flight to the UK. Singapore Airlines has has three A380s in service which have been flying from Singapore to Sydney, Australia and they have 16 more in order. Read more

Delta Passangers Head To The Airport Early

Delta Air Lines said yesterday. “it will require domestic customers flying out of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to check their baggage a minimum of 45 minutes prior to departure, effective Oct. 15.” Right now it is 30 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights. This policy change is the same as other airports such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando and Denver. The change is followed by Deltas announcement last week that they will be adding 14 more international flights from JFK by summer of 2008 and by decreasing number of flight departures during busy hours and adding larger planes to accommodate more passengers.

Just imagine having the option of reserving check point slots at the airport. TSA is considering a reservation system that would reduce checkpoint lines at airports during the busiest times of the days.

Travelers reserving checkpoint slots probably would have to arrive earlier than usual, perhaps by as little as 20 to 30 minutes, Hawley said. They also would probably have to pay ?? either a fee for each reservation or an annual subscription for unlimited reservations at participating airports.
