Alpha Blondy stages landmark concert in Ivory Coast

Alpha Blondy stages landmark concert in Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast’s biggest reggae star, Alpha Blondy, staged Sunday his first concert in his homeland since it was split by a failed 2002 coup, calling on his countrymen to put their bloody past behind them. President Laurent Gbagbo and some 5,000 fans turned up for the Peace and Reconciliation Concert in the picturesque coastal town of Grand Bassam, which served as the country’s capital in the early years of French colonial rule.

More Pet Friendly Places

More Pet Friendly Places

Americans are crazy about their dogs. I know many people wont go on vacation unless they take their dog with them, so they try to find hotels that except our little friends.

This past summer in Boston I have seen dogs in shopping malls, in outside restaurants, in parks playing with other dogs. I also took my two Lhasa Apso dogs Rexi and Lola to the outside Star Bucks cafe, people would stop and pet them tourists would take pictures, needless to say they were very well behaved and loved all the attention.

Lake Champlain Sunsets

Lake Champlain Sunsets

Lake Champlain Sunset

I guess it is water vapor in the air over Lake Champlain that creates the sunsets seen there frequently (one more thing I should look up someday). We often suggest to our guests a short trip to Burlington because it is such an interesting city, has much to see and do, good restaurants, and a nice lakefront park from which to watch the sunset. Every evening in nice weather, you will see people coming to the park and finding a bench to watch.

One last road trip

One last road trip

Our final trip with the 2007 Dartmouth Ski Team was a special one for the athletes, coaches, and administrators who have dedicated so much to the ski team in particular and Dartmouth Athletics in general. At the White House on June 18, President George W. Bush honored 27 of this year’s NCAA Division-1 national championship teams-of which we were one-in an afternoon-long celebration that included a tour of the White House, a personal meeting with President Bush, and Presidential remarks delivered on the South Lawn.
