Get Ready For The XCOR Aerospace Suborbital Vehicle

For those pressed for time and want to go far here is something exciting to look forward to. A small California aerospace company today unveiled a new suborbital spaceship that will provide affordable front-seat rides to the edge of space for those who can afford it.

The company, XCOR Aerospace, of Mojave, CA, announced that its two-seat Lynx suborbital spaceship will carry people or payloads to where they will experience weightlessness and see the stars above and the Earth and its atmosphere below. This will launch XCOR into the emerging space tourism market, estimated at over a half-billion dollars estimated flight time only 30 minutes.

Airlines Raise Fuel Fees On Europe Flights

Starting today, if you are taking a trip to Europe be advised that American Airline and Northwest Airlines raised fuel surcharges by $20 round trip. Flights from the US to London will now be $242, this is on top of  high fares because  of high fuel prices.

Americans traveling to Europe this summer will face not only the high cost of the euro there will be additional costs such as higher air fares and higher fuel charges making travel to Europe this  summer  three times higher then what they are now.

Airbus A280 Lands At London's Heathrow Airport

Singapore Airline Airbus A380 Flight SQ308 has landed in London’s Heathrow airport completing its first European flight.  The Singapore Airline arrived in London 15 minutes before its scheduled arrival time.

Each of the 470 Singapore Airlines passengers will be given a personalized certificate to honor the historic flight to the UK. Singapore Airlines has has three A380s in service which have been flying from Singapore to Sydney, Australia and they have 16 more in order. Read more

Beginning this September Emirates will become the first airline to serve Los Angeles (LAX) non-stop from the Middle Eastern or Gulf region when it launches daily flights.

Flight EK215 will be non-stop Dubai-Los Angeles 15 hours 55 mins and Los Angeles-Dubai 16 hr 35 min making it the longest flight in the Emirates Network flying over Japan and the Pacific rather than northern Europe and the Pole. This is great news for the west coast making travel much faster to and from the Gulf, Middle East and Indian subcontinent.

American Airlines: Testing new food on flights

Gone are the days where one would fly on a domestic airline and would be served a meal or a snack. These days airlines are charging for meals, American Airlines  has been selling food in coach since 2005.

American Airlines announced yesterday, in the next two months they are going to be testing light meals on flights like snacks and beverages. On selected routes each item will be tested for a week from sandwiches at $5, snack and beverages $3 and fresh antipasto platter and $10 for fruit and cheese plate.
